[This time may be scheduled for Weekly Lessons or for the 6-week Course of your choice. Contact amy@saltcitysewing.com to request a start date.] This session may be converted to 90-minutes (best for independent projects or 2-person lessons). With private lessons you can learn at your pace, build on what you know, study what interests you, and practice on projects of your choosing. Start with foundational concepts, then journey through techniques such as hems, gathering, facings, buttonholes, zippers, stretch fabrics, patterns, presser feet, needles and more. Gain confidence in your sewing skills through understanding the how and why. The commitment for Weekly Lessons is month-to-month, unless previous arrangements have been made. Past students may schedule single lessons for trouble-shooting. How to book: 1. Choose from 60-minute lessons ($30/week) or 90-minute lessons ($45/week). Time slots which can be converted to 90-minutes are noted in their listing. 2. Identify your preferred day/time and email amy@saltcitysewing.com to request it. Please specify in your email the day, time, and course requested. (e.g. Weekly Lessons, Introductory Course, etc.) 3. Once dates are confirmed, a registration link will be emailed to you. Weekly Lessons will be initially booked out for 2 months, renewable each month until ending notice is given. 6-week courses will be booked out six weeks, with the option to convert to weekly private lessons once the course is finished. Add a friend or family member for the 60-minute/2-person rate ($45 total per lesson). There is a one-time $10 materials fee for each new student, due with your first month tuition. A workbook and basic materials will be provided to give you hands-on practice when learning new concepts. With the instructor you'll choose larger, multi-week projects to complete once foundational skills are established. Materials for these projects are provided by the student. 90-minute lessons are recommended if you're working on detailed projects in class, as well as for two-person lessons. Tuition is charged for the number of lessons in a month, due at the first lesson each month. Begin any time of the year. Missed or makeup class policies will be sent out with your registration information.
