*Contact Amy to schedule, amy@saltcitysewing.com If you have previous sewing experience and can follow a seam allowance, you'll enjoy this Patterns 101 course! Learn transferable skills for working with other patterns on your own. We'll work through the creation of your own Pajama Pants or T-shirt, learning the following concepts: how/what body measurements to take finding the right pattern size reading a pattern envelope and layout instructions making length adjustments cutting with precision understanding the pattern's instructions finishing edges/basic hems If you choose the Pajama Pants option you'll also learn to add side pockets and insert an elastic waist casing. If you choose the T-shirt option you'll learn how to print and assemble a digital pdf pattern and how to successfully sew on stretch knits, including adding a neckband. It is possible to instead learn on a pattern of your choice, but additional sessions may need to be added if the pattern is more complicated. A pattern (paper pj pant or digital t-shirt) is provided in your tuition. Students will provide fabric and thread (the yardage will be determined at the first session).
